who we are
With five kids and a Welsh Springer Spaniel in tow, our road trips are an unpredictable, lively adventure. Our minivan is always packed tight with snacks, books, and bags—along with plenty of laughter and occasional chaos. Lorelei keeps things organized, Jack handles the heavy lifting, Adeline gets lost in her books, Carolina protests every destination, and James keeps Poky, our dog, as entertained as possible. We book our stays just a day or two ahead, exploring historic sites, visiting friends and family, and embracing the unknown. It’s loud, it’s messy, but in the middle of it all, we’re making memories—one spontaneous stop at a time.

I’m Lorelei, and I love animals, books, and making sure my siblings are okay—even when they’re being a little wild. I’m always ready to help, but sometimes, a quiet moment with a good book sounds perfect. If I’m not reading, you’ll probably find me with Poky, sneaking him treats.

I’m Jack, the official “guy who takes things apart.” Whether I’m climbing something I probably shouldn’t or fixing something no one asked me to, I’m always in the middle of a new project. If it looks like it’s fun to explore—or break—I’m your guy.

I’m Adeline, and I spend most of my time in a world of stories. I love reading and imagining all kinds of adventures. I get to be the “big kid” sometimes and the “little kid” when I want to, which is kind of fun. But if you see me, I’m probably off in my own world, dreaming up something magical.
meet carolina
I’m Carolina, and I like to keep things fun—and by fun, I mean my kind of fun! I’ll always tell you what I think, especially if it’s about skipping the old stuff and heading straight for the excitement. Don’t worry, though, I’m sweet about it (most of the time)!

I’m James, and I’m the youngest, but don’t let that fool you. I know how to have fun and learn new things! I’m basically an expert on presidents and any town that shares my name. Plus, if there’s something interesting to snack on or explore, I’m already there!
meet poky
I’m Poky, the Welsh Springer Spaniel, and I’m always on the lookout for three things: a snack, some attention, or a chance to jump into the nearest body of water—be it ocean, lake, or river. Don’t let that door swing open too long, or I’ll be off on an adventure! And if there’s a comfy couch nearby, you’ll probably find me sneaking in a snooze when no one’s looking.

I’m the one keeping everyone fed, organized, and—hopefully—on time! Between finding what’s been left behind and keeping the snacks stocked, I try to sneak in a little history and learning wherever I can. If I can manage all that and still enjoy the journey, it’s a win!

I’m the planner and driver, and I’m all about sharing my love for travel and learning with the kids. From booking last-minute stays to finding the best roadside stops, I’m always thinking about what we can discover next. And let’s be honest—I’m just trying to make sure everyone’s still smiling when we get there.
